A few more set up photos

Show Hanging: Day Three

Put the finishing touches on the show yesterday, and time got away from me and I wasn't able to post any photos from Tuesday. Sophie and husband Steve came back yesterday from their whirlwind Oregon adventure, and cooked me a lovely dinner! (that's why I didn't get to posting!) Today Sonia comes in, and the everything begins with the patron preview party tonight!

Here are some more set up
photos from the last two days.

Show Hanging: Day Two

We finished hanging all the work today. I think we were all surprised that we got this much done. Tomorrow we will make the finishing touches on hanging our mosaic history panels and setting up the tools and materials display cases. And the lighting guy comes into put all the lights into proper places.
We don't have to get to Lake Oswego until noon tomorrow. Yipee!

I'll post a few more pictures in the morning. I am T I R E D!

Show Hanging: Day One

Staging art for a show is fun; the actual hanging is hard work! Thanks to the crack team of Mark Brody and Lisa Strout, things got moving! Kath and I acknowledged that the actual hanging part is not our strong suit! Kim Emerson stopped by and was invaluable help in sorting and organizing the work for the best looking show. Later Luz Mack-Durini came by with her friend Rebecca, and Luz proved to be a good art-hanger! After oohing and ahhing over all the work, of course!

Unpacking the Art

All of us gathered on Sunday morning to transfer all the shipped art from the storage location to the gallery. Here Mark Brody(artist on our committee) and Sandy Hageman (exhibit co-chair) unpack some art. Our great crew had everything unpacked by 12:30 pm! Kim Emerson and her mom surprised us with a visit, and Kim was just in time to open her own crates! It's getting exciting!

The set-up begins!

Welcome to my first-ever blog! I was asked awhile back if I might do this to track the happenings at the Cutting Edges show, and at first I thought I'd never have the time. I probably still don't, but I figured what the heck? I want to share pictures of the show from start to finish to all the artists who have work in the show and can't be here in person, so why not?

Today the portable walls get installed for our gallery. Here are a couple of photos.
